Ali O. IIhan,

Ali O. IIhan is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Design at the Ullman School of Design, University of Cincinnati. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Washington State University. His research sits at the intersection of computational social science, and design research, with recent work focusing on how computational methods can support the design and evaluation of public-interest services, particularly in areas such as child welfare, child abuse prevention, and hotlines/helplines. He has also conducted psychometric validations of parenting and resiliency assessments, with a focus on testing parenting assessment tools across cultural and linguistic contexts. He has innovated new approaches to analysis with machine learning and large language models to streamline program evaluations and to improve continuous quality improvement efforts in social service settings.
